When we say Japan's FGC is doing a good job making itself become more accessible, we really mean it. This's another proof.
The 10th episode of Papa no Iukoto o Kikinasai! anime features a character wearing Mad Catz T-shirt.
The image below is the intermission still image that separates the anime from the commercials in the half time. The characters playing fighting game are the protagonist and his love interest. The friend standing behind is wearing "Mago color" Mad Catz T-shirt. (The controllers, however, look like models from Hori.)
The anime is being broadcasted on 8 TV stations in Japan.
The T-shirt was first introduced to the public on April 23, 2010, in SSF4 launch party in Los Angeles. Daigo "The Beast" Umehara was invited to the event for exhibition matches and his Mad Catz sponsorship deal was announced at the same time. Without doubt, the claw mark was inspired by him.
After Mago and Tokido were added to Team Mad Catz, white/red version of the shirt belongs to Mago, and blue/yellow version belongs to Tokido. The anime staff probably knows something, since Mago is the only one in the team who watches some anime. You'll find him talking about anime from time to time. His recent watched anime are Rinne no Lagrange and Bakemonogatari's sequel Nisemonogatari.
Last year, Umehara was turn into a girl in an adult manga.
