It is revealed today that the finals of Japan's Street Fighter 25th Anniversary tournament on October 20 will be held in Nicofarre. This marks the first time Nicofarre is used for a fighting game tournament.
Nicofarre is Japan's most luxurious event hall exclusively for streaming. It is owned by Nico Nico itself. The hall is not big, but what important is its technology. The walls and the ceiling are LED displays which will show either images or viewer comments. (You can also pay to make your comment glow and stand out for 10 yen a time.) Viewers from home can change camera angle as they want from the selected options. The hall is also capable of making a hologram concert. It also has hot shower in performer's waiting rooms, drink counter, and locker rooms.
The usage fee including the advanced options of Nicofarre is around 2 million yen.
While this is a good news, it cannot hide the fact that the tournament stream is pay-per-view. Additionally, the hall attendants will only come from invitation.
