This's a Koihime Enbu exhibition match between Garireo and GODSGARDEN's Kami-chan from the monthly Koihime Enbu tournament on Sunday at Leisure Land Akihabara 1 game center.

We rarely see Kami-chan play fighting games nowadays, but his main fighting game is now Koihime Enbu. Garireo is the man who won Evo 2014 with a big comeback in BlazBlue grand finals.

Saint Seiya LoS BD/DVD coming December 5, with English sub

It's announced last week that the Blu-ray and DVD of Saint Seiya: Legend of Sanctuary will be released on December 5.

From the product description, the BD/DVD will feature English subtitle.

Saint Seiya is a legendary series from the manga that was first published in 1986. This film is a reboot of the entire Sanctuary saga (first saga of the series), with new storytelling and redesigned saint armors (called Cloth).

Due to its nature, Saint Seiya is made into a fighting game from time to time. The last one was Brave Soldiers (2013), and Ultimate Cosmo (2012) before that. Seiya is also playable in J-Star Victory Vs (2014).

• Her title is "Dragon Knight Princess of Divine Song."

• Her goal is to capture all dragons.
• One of her sample voices reveals that she has a soft spot and that she's all alone and can only trust dragons.

Kizuna Diagram

• Each character obtains a new unique personality from a scenario.
• A bad relationship is developed if both characters' personalities don't match. Vice versa, a good relationship is developed when setting matching personalities.
• These relationships are called Kizuna(s).
• In an example, Yuma and Agnum are showed to have "Negative Power" Kizuna.
• In another example, they're showed to have "Let's Go, Brothers!" Kuzuna.
• Kizuna(s) affect party member's actions in combat.

Resonance

• Resonance randomly occurs in combat.
• It allows two character to perform a unique action (attack or support) together, depending on their Kizuna or personalities.
• Yuma and Agnum are showed to perform an action called Rival Break when their Kizuna is Eternal Rival.

Field Chat

• In the field, a party member will say something, including giving an advice.
• Sometimes it's a question, which you must answer using L1 (YES) or R1 (NO).

Camping

• You can camp at certain places. The places will also act as a save point.
• Camping will restore all HP and MP.
• It seems like camping will cut to night time instance where you can talk to a character or Stare (command) at them.

Night Event and Dating

• Using Stare command, there's a chance that Night Event will occur. This's a chance to develop a relationship. This also applies to two male characters.
• Night Event can lead to M.O.E.S (Mind Over Emotion System). It's basically question with time limit to answer. Good answers will improve relationship. You can also choose "Do not answer."
• At the end of a Night Event, there's a chance that you'll be asked for a date. This will also improve the relationship.
• It appears that personality can trigger a unique event in a date.

Shining Resonance gameplay was introduced by the producer himself on Sunday.

New things we found in the video

• It has "preemptive strike" called Advantage Battle for approaching enemy from behind.
• Yuma's MP will continue to decrease when in dragon form (Shining Dragon Ilban). As MP decreases, the dragon will risk going into Rampage status–attacking everyone both sides.
• It seems like Yuma cannot transform back to human form without a Rune Song to calm him down. (In other words, use Rune Song to calm him down before his MP runs out.)
• You can assign up to 4 Force moves to 4 buttons (Circle, Cross, Triangle, Square). (To use, press the button while holding L.)
• You can escape a battle by leaning toward the invisible wall.

[TGS2014 Day 3] USF4 Omega Edition announced

It's announced today on Capcom's USF4 stage show that a new mode, called Omega Edition, will be added to Ultra Street Fighter IV.

The new mode is said to change the game as we know completely, as it will feature new sets of character moves exclusive to this mode.

Update: Official information in English is added below. The Omega Edition will come with a new balance patch.

We’re not stopping there however! In our ongoing effort to make sure that Ultra SFIV is the greatest version of SFIV yet, we bring you a completely new, completely free and most importantly completely fun version of your favorite 44 characters in Omega Mode! 

For those wondering, Omega mode is a completely new mode in which every character has been modified and outfitted with new normal and special attacks, resulting in a refreshing take on the characters you’ve come to know and love over the last six years. As the primary goal for this mode was fun, we placed more emphasis on making the characters feel new, than on their balance. This means that strong, fan favorite attacks such as Ken’s Shinppu Jinrai Kyaku and Sagat’s Tiger Raid make their return while other characters such as Zangief gain new abilities, like being able to combo into his command throws.

Now I know the next question that comes to mind is, “will this be playable online?” My answer to that is “it most definitely will be!” But as this mode is for fun, Omega mode will be restricted to unranked matches only. Additionally all official Capcom tournaments and Capcom Pro Tour affiliate tournaments will use the default Ultra balance, not Omega mode, as the tournament standard.

DBFC T-shirts announced

Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax T-shirts from a collaboration between Sega and Cospa has been announced today.

These T-shirts, priced at 6,000 yen ($55) each, will be released in late November, although four of them (Asuna, Kirito, Shizuo, Miyuki) will be sold in advance at Dengeki Bunko Autumn Festival 2014 on October 5.

If you want to import, keep checking your favorite online export shops on Monday or so. Don't wait, because these things will sell out fast and you don't want to win DBFC tournament at Evo 2015 without wearing one!

Valkyria Chronicles joins DBFC

It's announced today at Tokyo Game Show that Selvaria Bles and Alicia Melchiott from Valkyria Chronicles will be added to Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax on PS3 and PS Vita.

The characters will first appear as a boss, and are playable after unlock. (Selvaria as main, Alicia as support)

Note that the producer and the director refused to show the character select screen at the announcement, there's a chance that more characters will be added.

Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax will be released on PS3 and PS Vita on November 13.

A new Shining Resonance promo that focuses on showing characters and some gameplay was showed yesterday at Tokyo Game Show 2014. Although we have the video but let's wait for the official one.

This's the imperial princess Excela (voiced by Nana Mizuki) that was revealed yesterday. She's said to be "cool and beauty twin tail character" by the producer. It's also hinted that her theme song will be revealed this Sunday.

New Shining Resonance info

Our speculation was true. It's confirmed that the silver hair girl on the box art is in fact the princess of the empire, and is voiced by Nana Mizuki (Japan's highest-earning singer voice actress). She's songstress of the enemy side. Inevitably, she's Kirika's rival and will most likely have her own song.

Additionally, Kizuna Diagram system is revealed. From the pictures, it seems like you can set a personality to a character which will affect relationship between party members and can trigger an event.

Akiba's Trip 2 coming to PS Plus Free Play

It's announced that PS Vita version of Akiba's Trip 2 (Japanese version of Akiba's Trip: Undead & Undressed) will be added to Free Play section for Japan's PlayStation Plus members starting today. The game will be available to pick up from September 17 to October 14.

Akiba or Akihabara district not only is the holy ground of otaku, but also plays important role in JFGC. The legend of young Daigo Umehara started here 20 years ago (as you probably already read from his manga). A fighting game location test usually takes place here. And you'll see even more fighting game event here after the opening of e-sports cafe early this year.

Akiba's Trip is an adventure game set in virtual Akihabara district so this's one of the best opportunities to get to know and navigate the place without having to actually go there.

(Note that the English version of this game is already released on PS3 and Vita, and will be released on PS4 this Holiday season.)

[Video] JFGC people play Wonderland Wars

Fuudo, Bunbunmaru, Kami-chan, Sentosu, Nagisa, Shiki "Maou" Aoki were invited to play Sega's arcade MOBA game Wonderland Wars at Japan Gamer's Live on August 31.

Although Sega says that this's the world's first arcade MOBA, we say it's not quite true. Square Enix's Lord of Vermilion III already did this in 2013. LoV series introduced MOBA-like gameplay to the arcades since 2008.

Anyway, Wonderland Wars is quite different from Dota or LoL. You don't need to destroy Nexus. Your team only needs to have more "life" than opposing team after 6 minutes.

There're 3 things you can do to reduce the life of opposing team.

• Attack opposing team's castle (A.K.A. Nexus)
• Destroy an opposing team's turret
• Kill a member of the opposing team

Other differences

• You use stylus to control your character, and also to draw the line of your projectile.
• You can summon a giant who can instantly destroy a turret if let live long enough.

Wonderland Wars is currently under development. This location test version only had 4 characters (out of 12 planned?). The release date is currently "February 2015."

The videos above show viewpoint of Bunbunmaru who was in the same team with Fuudo and Maou. The team is full of serious gamers so another team couldn't even get a single win out of around 7 games.

Shining Resonance gameplay & new PV planned for TGS

It's announced that Sega plans to show Shining Resonance gameplay and new promotion video for the first time at its booth during Tokyo Game Show 2014.

Those who attend will also get a special edition of Famitsu magazine called Shainitsu which features only Shining Resonance information. A photo session with Kirika cosplayer is also planned.

Those who can't attend can still watch some gameplay during 30 minute Shining Resonance corner on Sega's TGS stream on the last day (15:00-15:30 JST).

Tokyo Game Show 2014 will be held between September 18-21. Sega will be streaming stage shows from its booth all four days.

New information of Shining Fan Festa 2014 event has been revealed today via the official site.

• Lia is announced as a performer in the concert part. (Lia is the singer of the legendary song Tori no Uta.)
• Performers of concert part: Nana Mizuki, Souichirou Hoshi, Asami Shimoda, Satomi Akesaka, Saori Hayami, Asami Seto
• Sale of tickets begins on September 13.
• Theme song of Shining arcade game will be showed. Our speculation is Blade Arcus theme song sung by Asami Shimoda who voices Pairon in the game.
• It doesn't appear that Satomi Akesaka involves anything at all, so it's possible that she'll sing Blade Arcus theme song together with Shimoda. Since her main job is voice actress she most likely voices an unannounced character. They sing Shining Force Cross theme songs.

It's announced today that Capcom will stream its stage shows during Tokyo Game Show 2014 on September 20-21.

Two unknown characters

• The character on the right belongs to Lombardia Empire. This supports our speculation that the silver hair girl is indeed the queen of the empire and is voiced by Nana Mizuki.
• The character on the left is most likely the long hair samurai-looking man in the opening movie. Interestingly, he doesn't belong to any country.

Armonix tuning

• It looks like this's point allotment system for the weapons. You can raise the magic potential for an ability such as raising max MP. Vice versa, you can raise physical attack potential for an ability such as add damage.
• You can rank up specific tuning via combat.
• You can add Skill Piece to an Armonix. Skill Piece such as Vital can raise max HP 10%.

Zest

• His class is "Majuukenshi" (magic "gunblade" user).
• He just wants to fight a strong opponent. His sample voice reveals that he gives up on a fight just because the opponent is too weak.

Beatrice

• Her class is Ninja Master.
• She's actually a childhood friend of Kirika and Rinna.
• Her sample voices show that she's more or less Tsundere character. (She says something like you're too nice for believing me like that.)

From the result of today's Capcom Pro Tour Asia: Taiwan, Daigo Umehara has qualified for Capcom Pro Tour Asia Finals in Singapore on October 25-26.

Umehara won the Taiwan qualifier by defeating GamerBee (Adon) 3-0 in the grand final, without losing a round.

Kotobukiya announces new Xiaomei figure

It's announced that Kotobukiya will release "Xiaomei & Rinrin" figure in January 2015. The 19 cm tall 1/8 scale figure is priced at 9,000 yen.

Note that this's actually the second Xiaomei figure from Kotobukiya. The first one was in 2012.

Shining series is known for being successful in its merchandises, especially its figures.

It's reported by GamerBee that Daigo Umehara will compete in Capcom Pro Tour Taiwan on September 6. The tournament acts as one of four qualifers (China, Korea, Taiwan, Singapore) that will lead to Capcom Pro Tour Asia Finals on October 25-26 in Singapore.

• He's the strongest member of Beowulf.
• His weapon is magic rifle.
• He's voiced by Souichirou Hoshi (Kira Yamato from Gundam SEED, Keiichi from Higurashi, Rage in Blade Arcus).

Beatrice

• She's a female ninja who specializes in swift attack.
• Her task in Beowulf is to provide secret information and assassination.
• Being a dark elf, she was affected by persecution in the past.
• She's voiced by Houko Kuwashima (Tomoyo from Clannad, Uka-sama from Inakon, Roselinde in Blade Arcus).

Shining Resonance will be released on December 11. Sonia is expected to be playable in Beast Note's most anticipated fighting game Blade Arcus.

Shining Resonance box art shows mysterious character

The box art of Shining Resonance is revealed today. But the most important thing is the new silver-haired female character that is showed along side the heroes on the right.

Our speculation is she is the queen of the empire who is voiced by Nana Mizuki.

Shining Resonance will be released on December 11. Sonia is expected to be playable in Beast Note's most anticipated fighting game Blade Arcus.

New TOPANGA online tournament revealed, stream planned

It's revealed today that TOPANGA will hold an USF4 online tournament on September 6 (starting 14:00 JST). Two rounds (afternoon and evening) of 64-man tournament are planned. Niconico will be streaming free of charge.

Win trip to Evo 2015 in MCZ's TGS tournament

It's announced today that MadCatz's 64-man USF4 tournament at Tokyo Game Show 2014 on September 21 will award a trip to Evolution 2015 to the winner.

Daigo Umehara already confirmed for this tournament.

Opening chapter

• Sonia, princess of Astria, breaks into the prison to rescue Yuma from the empire.
• Since Astria is at war with the empire, it needs to befriend with the dragon in order to gain momentum.
• At the prison, Sonia's small team found Yuma, but they need to find the way out.
• Kirika protects Sonia and creates diversion.
• Imprisoned for so long, Yuma lost willpower. But after seeing two brave women, he intends to fight the empire again.

• Her class is Magic Cannon Knight.
• Her weapon is Divine Cannon.
• She excels in healing magic and supportive magic.

• Because Marion is his best creation, he's strongly attached to her.

B.A.N.D. system

• BAND requires at least one bar of Party Gauge to activate. Gauge then gradually depletes to zero where effect wears off.
• Even in the same Rune Song, the effect can change accordingly the "Center" of the BAND.
