"Sakura becomes harder to play. No significant improvement. Footsie is necessary. And you can't drop a combo now."
Kazunoko
"Umehara-san changing his alias...." (his alias became Umehara, (with comma) breaking the tie with 「Kazunoko)
"I think Yun has quite advantage over Sakura."
"Kindevu using Hawk now?"
"Please don't nerf Rolento's rolls! Though it's better if they do (laugh)"
"Yun now requires more of meter management in USF4."
"When a Hugo challenges me, my first thought is choosing by mistake?"
Reiketsu (Claw player)
"Umehara-san's Hugo repeatedly lost to my Izuna loop and still continued with smile. His love of Hugo knows no bounds. I'm terribly sorry for doing this."
"Umehara-san's Ryu still kills me (Claw) with just Hado and MK."
Desora (Gouken player)
"They should charge only 50 yen for playing Hugo." (average Japanese arcades charge 100 yen a credit)
Koji KOG (Hawk player)
"Haitani-san was filming when I won Dogura-san's Rolento by just doing Condor Spire. Then I realized and kneeled down and said to him (Haitani) 'Please don't upload this. If Capcom finds out Hawk'll get nerfed to death!' It was uploaded anyway."

Commentators
Making Zhi a commentator is a serious mistake. Not only the guy can't draw a line between kids in the chat and a decent commentator, he took advantge of it (as expected). Humming a song or talking off-topic on the stream of biggest FG tournament is bad enough. There was something that needs to be addressed.
He said something like "I wonder if I lost a passport in Japan, will there be some help like the case of Mago?" He talked like Japanese players are not generous like the American.
The truth behind this is he was the one who used to ask the Japanese FGC to let him stay in their house at least 2 occasions for free or minimum cost. Apparently not many people wanted to get involved.
FYI, KSK used to let backpacking American player SubZero sleep/stay at his game center long time ago. And Sako also let GamerBee stay at his house this year.
This's the same case with a certain foreign player living in Japan who is being given cold shoulder. Because the guy is a real troll trolling both in and outside the game.
Back to the topic, it was also Zhi last year at Evo 2011 who forced Momochi and ChocoBlanka to kiss, and forced Gama-san to shout Denpa Jikkyou meme, just for entertaining.
When Zhi was paired with skisonic today, it was a torture. Because they're good at going off-topic.
On the bright side, we have Juice Box and Magus. These two are good at play-by-play as we already mentioned. Magus improved a lot since NorCal 2 years ago. He has a weak point in JFGC stuff, but he was really smooth in everything else.

Ogorare-kun
If you still don't understand why there's a maid giving people drinks and sometimes slaps in front of the camera, read this post about Ogorare-kun system. This's a similar service. Since the tournament is held in a maid cafe "CCO Cha" and some menu will be served in "Tsundere" style, the viewers can order a drink for the selected players and have them slapped at the same time. They can also instruct the maids what to write on the food with the tomato ketchup.
- Kindevu got Super Tsunderedaa. The maid said "I play SF4 and I used to wonder what Rufus player look like, you really look like Rufus! I'm impressed. Now do your best!" Then she slapped him really hard.
- OGTY got omelette rice with the word "Homo." (it's inside joke of the Japan UMvC3 community)
- Kusoru said on the stream that he's hungry and "Please order me something." Then a Kao TV viewer ordered Super Tsuderedaa x2 (served with double slaps from 2 maids) to Kusoru. The maids said "Why did you get an order like this? You wanna fight? Get serious already!"
- Some players like Suna Hebi got a "Corpse Stomping Soda."

TOPANGA League revealed
It's too sudden, but it's good that way. Something called TOPANGA League will start in two days. (So this's why TOPANGA TV moved from Saturday to Wednesday.) The competition will have Daigo Umehara (Ryu), Mago (Fei Long), Tokido (Akuma), Fuudo (Fei Long), sako (Ibuki), Momochi (Cody), Kazunoko (Seth), Kindevu (Cammy), RF (Sagat), Haitani (Makoto), Bon-chan (Sagat), and Uryo (Sakura).
Nico Nico will provide 12-episode smooth and high definition streaming and you'll see at least 330 games from these 12 players. However, it's pay-per-view. Five hundred yen per episode, or you can buy 12-episode package for 3,500 yen.
Details
- The first half (first 6 episodes) will be a round-robin league of online matches. First-to-Three match.
- The second half will be a knockout stage of offline matches. First-to-Six to win a set. (There's deuce when 5-5.) Two sets to win a match. Players from the lower ranks from the first half will have to fight the players above them to advance. (That means if you're 12th place, you need to win 11 straight matches to win the competition. While the 1st place only needs to win just one.)
Schedule
Update 2: Nico has updated the rules details on the round-robin stage - Game difference (GD) is used to determine the rank in case 2+ players have the same number of wins. Winning 3-0 means +3 GD. Losing 2-3 means -1 GD. Losing too many games could mean more opponents in the knockout stage. If the GDs are also the same, they'll count head-to-head result.

- Some players had a problem with the buttons, they paused the game 2-3 times. The rule is if you pause the game, you'll be hit one combo for free by your opponent.
- [Interview after tournament] Umehara said using a new character in tournament is fun. His character in Ver.2012 is still undecided, but probably Akuma.
- Umehara played Akuma in a tournament for the first time. Most likely for fun and experiment. His default Ultra is Demon Armageddon (U2) and U2 setup is one of his tools. (We saw he practiced that in Kuwait.)
- Apparently Umehara's Akuma is not ready, he dropped combos and made slow decisions. We don't see something like that in his Ryu and Yun.

[Round 3 ] Umehara beat MOV
Umehara & Iyo qualified to the Finals. "Umehara is strongest" is Tokido's reaction.
As I already pointed out, it looks like Iyo also uses Ibuki in this tournament, not Dhalsim as stated in the Twitter and Team Mad Catz site.
